I was browsing through my blog’s IG feed when I saw that I promised to review Nivea’s UV protection sunscreen with BB cream last January. I wasn’t able to do that then; here’s my brief product review now.
What I need from a facial cream
I’ve always been on the lookout for facial creams and products that met these needs of mine:
- has sun protection
- is moisturizing
- is non-greasy
- is non-comedogenic
- is paraben-free
Moisturizing your skin is loving it. SPF protection is preserving it. The other factors are because I have acne-prone skin, and the last one’s due to the many negative things I’ve heard about paraben being bad for your health.
What Nivea promises
Nivea promises a non-greasy, light, and tinted sunscreen for all skin types.
What Nivea delivers
This product is definitely light on the skin. I feel that it would’ve been non-greasy too – had the weather been 32 degrees Celsius or less. Summers in the Philippines have been increasingly hotter, however, with temperatures even reaching the low 40s!! I bet that when Nivea was formulating this product, they didn’t count on having consumers from such hot and humid countries.
As for the tint, well – it does offer coverage, and your complexion will improve, but only up a notch or two. At the end of the day, it’s mainly a facial product that provides you SPF 50 coverage.
Do I recommend this?
Verdict: do I recommend Nivea’s UV protection sunscreen with BB cream?
Answer: Yes. For a 50 gram tube that’s only less than Php 500., it’s not a bad deal at all. I would’ve loved to have experienced more of its BB cream properties (i.e., its moisturizing and beautifying properties), but it’s a pretty adequate product overall.
